Infrared Robot Tagging Contest

Department of Science and Technology -
Technology Application Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) and Philippine
Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME), in celebration of the National
Inventor's Week, organized a robot tagging contest in an effort to
stimulate the student's interest in the fast growing field of robotics and
automation. a.k.a. mechatonics. Seven schools joined the contest : Central
Colleges of the Philippines, De LaSalle University, Manuel L. Quezon
University, Mapua, New Era
University, Pamantasan ng Lunsod ng Maynila, and Technological University of the Philippines.
e-Gizmo Mechatronix, played a part as a technical consultant to this
event, designed and built the infrared sensing electronics for the robots,
and provided services to help ensure the success of the game.

| Finally, the conclusion of the festivities. The winners were
not announced yet, but I was told later it was the New Era University
group who got the top honor. Congratulations to all! |
