DC Servo Motor
A DC servo
motor is a special motor that
allows its rotation to be controlled and parked to a precise location.
Designed originally for mid to high end RC toys with
proportional controls, this control ability feature makes it a natural
choice for robot applications, where precise positioning matters,
perhaps, over anything else. Hence, its popularity with the hobby
robotics builders did not come a surprise.
As part of
the design process, we evaluated several DC servo motors from various
manufacturers, looking for the best in value and performance.
The
model E3003 DC servomotor fits this
criteria. Although not the cheapest among the servo we tested, it
performed with the best resolution ( less than 1 degree), good
linearity, and respectable torque. Following lists the manufacturer specifications of this motor.
